possible options 320

if you plan on long weekends at the dock and only day sail you might want refrigeration and air condition/heat. these are the two biggest things that I miss that I had on my other boat, be real when you thing how and when you will use your boat because these option don't do much good on the hook, but add to "life " on the dock. The heat was great as it gave us some what of an extended season when the nights are cold but still nice days!

first ever?

You say this is your first ever, but I hope you have some experience with boating? If not, please consider safe boating courses at US Power Squadron, US Coast Guard Auxillary, or anywhere that offers them. Don't endanger yourselves or your vessel by going out on the water without some experience.

Get that which feels right

the 320 cost alot. the extras want bankrupt you, but will enhance the sailing. my recommendation: stereo in mast furling (my first 320 and it make sailing so much easier) bimini, you might want a dodger for your climate, (knocks off the chill in spring and fall.) inverter make a boat more user friendly like the microwave on the hook.

My options

Full bimini (not from factory) Furling main AC/heat Stove w/oven CD player (added my own speakers in ped) Windpoint/speed instrument Autopilot 320 is a nice ship. If this is your first ever sailboat, do get someone experienced to go out with you a few times to show you the ropes. Manuvering and docking skills are also critical.

320 For my first Boat Too

I'm also buying a 320 as my first boat. I started with the 380 and then the dealer got in a 340, just as nice and 44k cheaper. Then he got in a 320, just as nice still and another 23k less. Now I can keep my fun including the loan payment, moorage and insurance within my 1000 a month budget. I feel that for day sailing and cruising for two in the Pacific Northwest, the 320 is a perfect first boat. I'm buying new because I don't like "used cars". My boat will have the in-mast furling, autopilot, deep keel, wind machine, LPG range, cockpit cushions, and they're going to install the arch mounted speaker module for me plus i plan to install a larger toilet. I'll do the dodger and bimini later, out of pocket and i'll add the heat later too, hunter wants 4400 for it, too much. I will be hiring a "skipper" for a few days to break me in on the boat. Also, I plan to moor it in fresh water, at my office on Seattle's Lake Union, so if I'm not in my office, you'll know where to find me :)
