I have had both the original and a replacement Guest 30-amp battery charger fail in the past 18 months. I am concerned that the starbord aft lazarette does not provide adequete ventilation for the unit. Is anyone else experiencing a similar problem? Comments please?

Don, just get in line!

Don: I can not remember how many complaints there have been posted about these guest charges. My suggestion is to get it replaced under warranty if there is any. Then sell it to some one that wants one. I would have suggested that you get you money back but I do not think that ANYONE is going to refund you money. Then decide if you want just a charger or a charger

Me too

I had two guest chargers fail on my 280, but the one on our current 380 is still holding on. Hunter now uses a different brand, thank goodness. If it's under warranty give Eddie or Greg a call at Hunter and see what they can do for you. Good Luck, Bob Knott H380

battery chargers

I had my oem battery charger fail (dytek) and replaced it with a newmar "smart" charger. It has a fan so that it will not "overheat" Had it for three years and well pleased with it. A little pricey but worth it in the long run !

ditto

My Guest 10 amp 2-bank charger failed during the third season, but out of warranty. I called and complained and they replaced it for cost. I mounted the new one with spacers under the screws to try and get some air flow behind it, but I don't have a lot of faith that it will last.

Guest Complaint

I also had a defective charger that cooked throug 5 batteries. I called Guest directly and I give them top honors, The unit I had was 1 year out of warranty and they replaced the old 30Amp unit with a new (and I add much smaller) 2633 smart charger. Their customer service team was a pleasure to talk to.
