I've recently purchased my 1st GRP boat. 1980 34ft long keel .

Based in Australia [South].

Start of winter here.

Is it best to clean her off and antifoul her now or leave until warmer weather ? There is quite allot of weed growth on her. How long will she need to be out of the water ? Will she come to any harm being left in water over winter ?

She will just get a bit more fouled if you leave her until spring. It won't harm the hull. You probably need at least three days out of the water to clean the hull allow for drying and then painting.

I agree Get a diver to keep the hull cleaned off over the winter get it painted late spring. You will be glad you did.

It's early summer here and mine is out for painting this week.
