Does anyone have any info on groundsing your boat against lightning? Is there any articles I can look up anywhere? Thanks

Try sailnet.com

I've been looking for information on the same subject. At sailnet.com they have a bunch of articles on all kinds of subjects. Do a search using "grounding", "lightning", "electrical" or something along those lines...can't remember exactly what word I used. There's one article in particular that even talks about the proper dimension/material for a grounding plate (if needed) and also what size wires to use to bond metal items together. Good luck. I read the same article on sailnet. It's in their archives. If you search enough you will find it. I wouldn't use that article alone to proceed with an electrical grounding strategy. Get a good marine electrical how-to book as well. I think Nigel Calder's Boat Owners Mechanical and Electrical might be a good source...I don't own it, but I thumbed through it at the book store not too long ago and it seemed to be a good book. Also, you can't go wrong by having a copy of This Old Boat lying around. I have that one, but it's on my boat right now so I can't say how much it talks about grounding strategies and so forth.......
