Ground cable behind aft cabin wall

This is a new boat, for me. 2003 Hunter 306.

I went behind the wall behind the aft cabin, into the area of the tanks, to "unstick" the macerator pump. No problem.

While in there, I saw a long, heavy gauge, green plastic coated electric cable with a flat connector on the end (looked like a green battery cable). It was not connected to anything. The other end snaked forward with the rest of the wires. The end I saw is just like the one attached to a large bolt under the cabin floor. Does anyone know where the one behind the aft cabin should be attached, and what it is used for?

Owners Manual

Start with the Owners manual. Hunter has great manuals that include detailed wiring diagrams and schematics showing everything the way it was put together at the factory. That wire should appear on the schematics.
Be sure to check the shore power diagrams too. The area you describe is near the shore power connections on my boat and this might be the Grounding cable for that????/

Green is commonly used as the ground circuit in AC applications such as your shore power. The large bolt under the cabin floor is most likely one of your keel bolts. I'm no electrical expert but 2 + 2 will add up to something to sombody on this forum.
