Peggie....what do you know about this? Sounds like just what the doctor ordered for those holding tanks that are poorly vented. Opinion please. Thanks

It's brand new...and a great idea

I just found out about it too. It's a component part of their ThermoPure Type I. I don't even know if it's sold separately, or the price if it is. Nor do I know whether it can use 12v--'cuz the ThermoPure only runs on 115v/ac--or how much it draws if it does. But I'll find out and get back to you. However, aeration is a mixed bag that isn't always 100% successful unless the tank is well enough ventilated to allow the CO2 produced by aerobic breakdown to escape...otherwise you just end up with a bubbling tank that's only a little less anaerobic instead of aerobic.

Groco says that the Sweettank is available in DC

AC Check the link below Plus it describes the unit as DC powered and using 3 watts which is .25amps and you must run it continously. Which is not *too* bad, but that will add up to 6 A/H's a day. If you are at a dock and your charger is on all the time no problem. But if one is on a mooring or not tied up to a dock, you must replenish that battery power somehow. I think a small to medium solar panel might do that pretty well. It reminds me of someone who posted an idea here a while back that wanted to put an aquarium aerator that blows bubbles into the head system that would help the aerobic process along.....sounded like a good idea at the time, but someone needed to "productize" it

Got the specs from Groco

It's a pricy little doodad...list is $230. The pump moves 1.8 litres of air/minute, which is no small amount! It consists of the pump, which can be mounted on the top of the tank or on the side at the top...a length of hard PVC that reaches to the bottom of the tank...and a length of perforated tubing that lays the across the bottom of the tank (necessary to distribute air to the entire tank contents). For maximum benefit, it should be run continuously, especially in hot weather. No other holding tank treatment is required when installed and used as directed.
