A new website by the Integrated Ocean Observing System has just launched combining data from many sources on Google maps. GLOS brings together an impressive array of data: harbor info (US only currently), climate data from ships and Canadian and US stations (wind, air and water temp, near-shore currents, wave heights), shipwrecks, lighthouses, webcams, weekly water levels forecasts, and more.

It shows where the freighters are! Cool stuff.
I heard the Georgian Bay area is supposed to be spectacular. So close and yet so far.

Scott... Thanks for the link. It takes a bit of time for the maps to change positions or load, even on my high speed cable Internet, but the information is great.
