A big thumbs up to TED CORLETT at BOOMKICKER!!!

I ordered and paid for two boomkickers, via internet, from out of Colorado. He never shipped them. Stopped returning calls, emails etc...I was given Teds number from a fellow forum member and he told me to call him and explain what happened. Ted knew the vendor and he called them himself and started investigating. Of course the story was first there were some accounting issues, then I never paid for them, then he had shipped them. Excuse after excuse. He looked into each excuse and realised there were others as well that this has happened to.

Ted finally got serious with him and at the end of the day, I believe, ended his relationship with the vendor. This guy (Arthur) is no longer called Marine and is now based out of Seattle and his web site is Peaksails.com. To quote Babu from Seinfeld..."he is a berry baaaad man". Buyer beware when doing business with him.

Ted on the other hand, sent me two Boomkickers and I agreed to pick up the shipping to Canada ($54). I made the original purchase in July of 2011, Ted got involved sometime in October and on March 9th, the Boomkickers showed up on my doorstep. What a beautifully made product, I can't wait to install and eliminate my topping lift. More importantly, Ted believes in his product and completely stands buy it. Totally over and above service. This dragged on for months and it would have been easy for Ted to let it go. He did not and yet I was the one out $400. Thank you Ted!! I will be installing next week my motor comes back from its tune up.

If you haven't looked at a BOOMKICKER, I recomend you do. (Buy from a reputable vendor or directly at boomkicker.com)

2nd that!
I've dealt on the phone with Ted a couple of times and his patience and service have always been outstanding. And you're right about it being a great product. The very first upgrade I'd make to any new boat.

I just purchased a new mainsail from Peak Sails, I believe I worked with a guy named Phil. He gave me outstanding service. He answered every question, and even honored giving me several add ons to my basic sail, that I didn't really ask for, but we're included in my quote. Even after I told him that it was alright, the deal has to be good for both parties.

inarathree....did you get your product? I bet shanker got good customer service when he placed the order, but what I hear shanker say is that he never recieved anything but excuses. Shankers experience is similar as what I got with boaterbits on ebay.

I got my sail by the 3-4 week delivery date, delivered via FedEx. While I havent had my sail on the boat yet, due to back surgery, I have had it spread out in the yard, and its looks awesome. As I have several large sail lofts just down the road in St Petersburg, I talked with a friend who works at one of them, and while any of them can sell, or will sell, me a discount sail, they all come from the same couple lofts in Taiwan or somewhere like that. And he advised me to just save the $100 to $200 bucks and order from an online dealer. I did do research on discount sail lofts, before I went with Peak, and while I didnt find as much information/recommendations on them, as some of the others, all the recommendations were positive. Being the cheap b*stard that I am, price won out.

I feel for anyone who has a bad experience when buying online, as God knows I have had my share.
