I have not greased my in mast roller furling on my 356 since the boat was transported to Florida in 2004

Do any of you guys do that regularly?

Don't know how I would get up to the top of the mast

you should grease it annually, it's really easy. When you remove the sail, the top bearing comes down with the headboard. remove the side covers on the mast and pump grease into the notches on the upper and lower bearing covers while you rotate the winch. that's it. selden recommends a specific grease, but any waterproof non-filled bearing grease (like marine trailer bearing grease) should work fine.
