I need to refinish the grab rail on our 1984 34H. Should I plan on removing the rail or an I inviting leaks to occur ?

Refinishing Grab Rail
Alan, I just read in Practical Sailor about a new product called hand rail masking tape. These are precut tapes that fit around the base of the hand rail that should make masking easy. As long as the rails are not in too bad a shape, you should be able to mask where the base attached to the cabin deck and finish onboard. These tape bases cost $2.98 for a roll of ten bases.
