GPS MOUNTING

I recently purchased an O'Day 302 - have not sailed her yet. Anyway, I want to mount a Navman 5500 GPS on my pedestal. I have two electronic pods on either side of the pedestal. So my mounting area left over is the curved area at the top of the pedestal - stainless tubing. I would prefer the mount to have the GPS centered in the top of the pedestal rather than a swing out type. I have checked with Navman and West Marine with no luck. Does anyone know of a rail type mount that will work for this application?

GPS mount

Hi Joe, I found some platform/rail mounts made from plastic in west marine I think the mfg was Snapit or AFI,they were like the rail drink holders and I was able to mount each one on the pedestal right below the arch and swung them inboard which accepted the GPS mount. I'm able to remove it without any problem and its tucked in right behind the compass, a friend used seaboard shaped the same as the pedestal arch and mounted it with U clamps and made a back for the pedestal and mounted his above his compass and in front of the pedestal rail
