GPS maps

Hi,
A friend of mine is interested to install a map of the Mediterranean Sea to his Garmin GPS.
Is anyone familiar with 'Blue Chart' G2 vision or something similar. Did you find different prices from various sellers?
Is there such things as free downloads?

No freebies for Garmin units. Some people sell a little less than others but not too much different. I would go with a reputable seller if not Garmin.com.

The only free chart downloads I'm aware of are the NOAA ENC and BSB format charts for US waters.

It would help if you said which Garmin unit your friend had. Some of them can take the full G2 download, others can't. Some have card slots for pre-loaded map chips, others don't.

There's a difference between "bluechart", "bluechart g2" and "bluechart g2 vision" -- you need to know which one will work on the unit. There are no third party vendors -- only Garmin products will work. I do know that if you search the web for the best price you can save a few bucks/drachma/euros/shekels (not sure which part of the Med you want the chart for! )

Richk, that link you gave, they have some really good prices. He will check if they are compatible with his instruments, otherwise he will have to spend some more euros to buy a package from the local Garmin agent.
