Gentlemen, Good morning. I have another H40.5 question: Where do you place your GPS antenna on your Hunter 40.5's? Though the obvious answer is the stern rail, the stern rail seats seem to make a stern mount less than optimal -- I don't want people grapping it while seating, etc. I am particularly interested in the "mushroom" type antenna mounts. Where did you put yours? As always, any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Respectfully, Jon Hunter 40.5 "Jonny Quest"

mine was mounted

by the previous owner on top of some customer dingy davits... Most of the other 40.5s I've seen photos of have it mounted on the back rail. -- Craig Coffman Winds of Change, H40.5

..starboard side, forward of the seat, on the rail. It doesn't get in the way. RD

Mounted inside the boat

Dear Jon, I have mounted my mushroom type GPS antena on my 410 inside the main cabin, just next to the navigation table, on a certain shelf that makes a part of the wall cover. The sattelite signals are strong enough (at least here in the East Mediteranian). Daniel

Mounting on Yaga

Put one GPS antenna on the port stern rail fwd of the seat. Sometimes crew will use it as a gear shift knob. I can tell because the Garmin will beep at me. It's been there over 3.5 years. Added a Raytheon 112 to the Radar pole but I'm not sure it needed to be outside since it worked perfectly inside the cabin on top of the Nav Station wing and had strong signals. It would have kept it out of the weather. I may move it down below. Mickey McHugh - Yaga

Mount on Radar Pole

Our GPS is mounted on the radar pole. The radar pole is mounted on the stern of the boat. Bob
