The radio is a Standard Horizon GX2200
I also got a RAM mic for it. I’m very happy with it

Is that a "transient" thing? I hope, I hope.
______

I just double registered the boat's MMSI and Radio Call Sign, through my USCG app.

I was amazed from Hunter factory MMSI NOT connected between VHF and Chartplotter. Only took me a few minutes to connect. Must be hundreds or thousands of boats without this simple safety device.

Don’t forget the station license to go with it. More $$. Surprising how few folks have them. I have both station and restricted as I’ve read some boats have been hastled for not having them.

@LeslieTroyer , can't tell; are you implying that your can get an MMSI from the FCC without getting a station licence? If so how, I'd didn't know that was possible!

Don’t recall which I got first. I just know a fair number of folks buy and install VHF’s with no thought or desire to have any license. Just listing on the ch 16 and others how very infrequently you hear any kind of call letters.
