Got Flags......

How many flags are enough. Generally, how many does one fly without having to classify it a sail. We fly three US, Yacht Ensigns and Missouri State. OK, sometimes four if the beer mug flag is appropriate. Too many?? Thoughts anyone???"Festivity"H26 1996

Seems like the us ensign and yacht ensign is overkill and redundant especially when they would normally be flying in the same location-but that's just me- it's your boat, maybe the beer mug one is the most important?

Check out Chapman's. They have a whole section dedicated to flag etiquette. I spent a half hour this weekend trying to figure out all the flags on an anchorage neighbor who had "dressed ship" for Sunday. Most of the flags were in the book.Jim"Prospect"
