Just purchased new cam for me is the "GoPro 7 Black". After testing and learning about its capabilities wow seems great and someways too good to be true. Was testing filming in my car driving down the road and after 3 minutes of use in video mode I stopped the car and picked up the camera only to be shocked that it was really HOT! Like over 100 deg hot. Went back to the house and turned it back on and measured the temperature of the camera after running it for 5 minutes and found it to be 120deg. then the cam shut off but only because the battery lost all power 0vdc. I put in a new battery and the same thing happened.. Thought, Take it Back to store get a new one.. Long story short the new one did the same thing.. The GoPro company stated they never heard of this problem, However, looking online and blogs... The product is bad and the company has no fix.. So back to the store tomorrow to get money back.
Thought I would share this with you all because it might save you time and $699.00
Regards, Capt. Rob

Thanks StargazerP303. I got the same camera as a Christmas gift. I have used it a few times around the house this winter with no problems. I took it to Florida on vacation in January. It was fully charged when I packed it, but found the battery completely dead when I took it out to use it. I had left the charging cable at home, so it never got used. I will get it out tomorrow to see how well it works.

Well, maybe you'll have better luck than the 2 cams I had. What I found is its good for very short vids maybe about 5 to 10 min. before it starts really getting warm. Remember do not leave the battery in the cam when storing it... could possibly, catch "fire". The other thing is the higher the shutter speed "60" the hotter it gets. If you turn voice control on it continues to drain the battery because it's power is never really in an off state. Caution ! Do not leave on your boat with the battery IN the camara. Remember the batteries are much hotter internally too approx 145deg in my cam. ON camera UPDATES I was updated to 1.7.0. What I found was it is better to install updates manually by downloading from GoPro site the ZIP file conect camera to your PC so you can extract zip file directly to your camera and not to the pc. Once you unzip to camera power down (reboot) camera and it will automatically install the update properly. The camera has a bug in it and will not stay connected via WiFi or Bluetooth long enough to finish the task of updating. Manually updating you'll have also enough battery juice to complete the update properly, while the online requires a battery at 100% full before you update.. it eats power and will drain the battery very quickly as well heats up the unit very quickly. The online requires 3 things that can go wrong 1. Battery 100% 2. WiFi connection 3. Blue-Tooth Yes it requires all 3...LOL If you need any GoPro attachment for your camera let me know... I have them all and will be cheap!!! an underwater case, HDMI cable to the TV, battery charger, 3 batteries. fasteners, tripod handhold, bike handle fasener.. and the list goes on. send PM!! LOL

Oh support..LOL you better learn another language not english..
