We would like to enter into a discussion about our '76 Ranger 33's rigging. The original stainless gooseneck connection at boom to mast is failing,i.e., tearing. We are wondering if other Ranger 33's have had this problem. Is this part available for purchase and where, or would you folks recommend having the part made with a little heavier grade of stainless? Also, it has been recommended that the original turnbuckles on the rigging be replaced.

If you know the spar manufacturer

That would help a lot in sourcing the part. Anything can be custom made and Garhauer in California has been known to take on projects like this. If your standing rigging (the stays & turnbuckles) are original to 1976 it should all have been replaced about 15 years ago and is now due again. That would be my #1 priority!! Loosing the spar is far worse than loosing the goose neck..
