Good solution for dirty rub rails

I found a good way to clean dirty rub rails this weekend that is MUCH easier than putting in new ones. My 85 Catalina had very dirty and mildewed rub rails. I found that after cleaning them with SoftScrub with bleach and a nylon scrubber sponge they look new and all of the stains and mildew have vanished. Took only aboutan hour and didn't involve having to remove or replace the rub rail. Others may want to give it a try.

Ongoing Maintenance

Every year when I wax the hull, I clean mine with the Starbrite color restorer that I am using on the hull. They have continued to look great year after year.
