Sam, You've given me inspiration for yet another project. Just what I need! I've been thinking of adding outlets for some time, especially over the starboard shelf/berth which will be the home of a mini entertainment center. Tried to e-mail you a few times...not getting through? Don

Original wire?

Sam, from your first photo of the original galley outlet, it appears, based on the original wire crimped connector showing in the photo that the original ac wiring on your late 33 was boat cable. This so?

Where are the GFI's ???????

Your workmanship and methods look great. I can't help saying, that the outlets in the pictures did not look like GFI's. The extra $10 to $20 cost is the best insurance you can provide for the protection of your boat and its passengers. With 14 guage wire, I also assume the panel breakers are 15 amps, or less. The first outlet on each circuit should be a GFCI receptacle. Then use the feed through terminals for the second receptacle. Unfortunately, you won't be able to cram everything into the existing steel box.
