A couple of very light (4-6 knots) days in Greece allowed up to explore the capabilities of the Pogo 12.50's new Doyle Code 0.

A Code 0 is basically a spinnaker that is flown like a genoa on an integrated stay/torsion line. Cut very flat and deployed from a roller, in light airs can often be used up to 60-65 TWA with an apparent angle in the 40s.

Cracked off a few degrees the sail really comes into its own as the apparent wind speed builds; often the boat will travel 1-2 knots faster than the wind.

It works best with boats with non-overlapping headsails. On these boats, the lack of a genoa hurts in light air upwind work. Being able to use what is effectively a huge genoa makes up for that!

Anlyone else with Code O stories?
