I WILL BE GOING TO FLORIDA SOME TIME NEXT WEEK, CAN ANYONE TELL ME SOME PLACES TO GO TO RENT A BOAT IN THE CLEARWATER AREA AND ALSO PLACES TO SIGHTSEE. AS I LIVE IN NORTHEAST PA. Florida trip

I live about 15 miles from Clearwater. There are several places in St. Pete and Tampa that have sailing schools that also charter sailboats. I think if you pick up a Sail Magazine they are listed there. One is VYC Charters and Sailing School in St Pete at 800 879-2244, web site www.sailingflorida.com,another is Sunsail in Palmetto, just at the south end of Tampa Bay, 800-922-7679. www.masseyyacht.com. I am sure there are more but these are the ones in a local Southwinds magazine. This is a great sailing area and I think you will like it. As far as sailing supplies, the place that caters to sailboats is Johnson Sails at 3000 Gandy Blvd in St Petersburg. Phone 800 234-3220. There are limited sail supplies at BoatUS and West Marine in Clearwater. Good luck and enjoy your visit.

I just came back from a weekend in St. Pete. I went up to Tarpon Srings and met the folks at Seacoast http://www.seacoastcharters.com. They were very helpful and not as pressure oriented as some of the other. Check out their site and give em a call.Tell them Don from Washington sent you.
