That should have been a pneumatic gun with a 300 Ft Lb max rating and not PSI.

Evan,

Thanks for the post. I really appreciate it. The help on this thread and this site is so great. I haven't been to the boat for a bit as we have had some family emergencies to deal with. I haven't put my keel back on yet, so not much new to report. I hope to get to that sometime in the next two weeks.

I have some delamination in my rudder, so that is the next major project. I am going to drop the rudder next and take it home for a rebuild. I'm sure you'll see that in another thread once I get going.

As much as all of this sucks and I am missing prime sailing season once more, I feel as if I am doing a major refit and that my boat will be in better than new shape when it is done. Maybe by the end of the summer I can get it in and enjoy some fall sailing.

I will keep the updates coming when I have something more useful. Evan...thanks for the emergency tiller photo. Mine is not like that. There is an aluminum plate that has been "siliconed" in with something I don't recognize. Will have to replace that too.

Just curious what they did to fix the fractures around the holes for the keel bolts. I'm sure we'd all like to learn from your experience in case we suffer the same fate at some point.

...and my 302 is still on hard, tried to repair and torque the keel bolts , 3 bolts are easy accessible, but the 4th one is under the tensioner post - couldn't reach it without unstepping the mast; mast is down , did it yesterday, Marine shop will drop the keel , inspect and install it back;

BaySkipper, thanks for another data point on the O302/322 keel concern. What year and hull number is your boat?
