Thinking of going "Bluewater" this upcoming summer in my coastal cruising little 25' Cherubini. Am I crazy? Not going too far, possible a few hundred miles out into the Atlantic. Any suggestions, anyone had any experience in a coastal cruiser in distant sailing?

Watch your weather!

I believe we have the same boat a Hunter 25. Mine is a 1981 model. I cruised for many years on a Cheoy Lee Clipper 33. I believe the 25 is a well designed boat for it size. Just limit your offshore time to a day or so. This will allow you to make sure the weather doesn't kick up during your time offshore. Always pick good inlets as this is where problems can occur. I am makeing several modifications to mine to do some offshore myself. Good luck. Email me if you would like some ideas on modifications. kennyhoutz@email.com

Rebuilt it , and from Ohio to bluewater.

Oct 2007 I am planning to leave Lake Erie via the N Y Canal system, down the Atlantic coast and around Florida's tip to end up in Tampa/St Pete where I have family to leave the boat with. Long story on the rebuild. Goal was efficient bulletproof-ness. I made it. Don't really have teh rebuild story, pics and thought processes all together yet. Posted most of it over on the TSBB. Gathering all the posts over a few months to get a story together for here too. CharlieH
