I owned a 1985 S2 36C several years back. Great boat; Sailed it to Bermuda. Due to health and financial changes I had to sell. Now, 61, health is in check, (probably 5 years left) I am ready to purchase (at least) a 36, and will be sailing blue waters 25% of the time. At the risk of nixing a 41 year marriage, I need to make sure it is a live aboard, sails the open waters, be the best boat for the price. Oh yes, center vs. aft? (Loved the center cockpit). So, is the S2 36C the best bet, as it compares to other used boat designs, and at what price? (Must be price conscious, 30K to 40K) And, keep in mind, it may have to be my home!!!! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
