I've decided to go ahead and put Magic Wind up on the hard for the summer here in Florida. This is the first time that I've done that. So here's the questions: 1. Since I've been in salt water, how do I rinse the engine with fresh water so the salt water doesn't sit in the engine for the 4.5 months she will be up? 2. Same thing with the air conditioner. That input is a clam shell. 3. Is there any other advice that I should have under my belt before the project starts on Friday? Thanks in advance for all your help and advice. I know there are a lot of Northern folks that do this year after year, but I would also like to hear from anyone that does this in Florida to see if there is any area specific things I should know. Assuming you have

... and inboard diesel, here is how I flush out the salt water from the raw water side of my Yanmar 2GM20f: Shut the raw water intake seacock. Remove the hose from the seacock to the water strainer. Connect a piece of hose from the water strainer to a bucket. Fill the bucket with fresh water (I also put a hose into the bucket to keep it filled while doing this) and then run the engine. Can't help with the A/C...

Heres an Idea....

This will take two people... could you possibly take an old rubber plunger and cut open the hole where the wooden handle screws in and place a garden hose in that hole, and then have someone hold this assembly over the intake on the outside of the hull while you run the a/c? Another suggestion would be to splice into the into the a/c line inside the boat. You can do the same for the motor. Just some ideas.

AS mentioned disconnect the raw water hose from the seacock and put it in a bucket with water or use a funnel in the hose and let fresh water pour into it while the engine is running and maybe you can do same thing with the ac unit where the inlet pump hooks up and do the same thing.
