Our hearts go out to the victims and their families of the terrorist attacks in New York and washington.

At a loss for words.

We had planned to sail today, 9/12, since our boat is being hauled soon. Suddenly it was no longer important. Many of the gas stations are gouging at over $4.00/gallon. We didn't want to support their efforts by driving 180 miles. We will remember which oil companies are taking advantage of this tragedy. We sit at work and mourn.

It's almost unbearable

Whatever we write will seem very trite when compared with the enormity of this tragedy. But, I'll write for relief and something to keep me busy. The loss of life in NYC is, and will be as this unfolds, just staggering. My thoughts and concern for all of you is that you and yours were not directly touched by these tragic events. Alas, as many people as were involved, we will all be touched in some major or minor way. I fear our country and our way of life has been changed forever. What kind of world are we leaving for our children? This is so sad. But, as I type this at 10:20 PM, they are raising funds for the American Red Cross tonight in Kansas City. They started at 5 PM and have raised over $435,000 with a goal of $500,000 by 11 PM. The American spirit is alive tonight in Kansas City and I hope in your community, as well. God bless America and may He give our nation's President and our leaders the strength and wisdom they will need to cope with these events as they seek to protect and guide our nation.
