Does anyone have any goals in mind for the upcoming season?

I'd like to fly my asymmetrical spinnaker for the first time and hopefully get some photos of it flying. I have never flown one before, but it has a chute and I have the rigging worked out.

I'd also like to get the boat in the water early so I can both sail and get some repairs done in the water. I am trying hard to focus on the exterior this spring with that in mind. Unfortunately she picked up a nice scratch on the keel which will need attention. I really should strip her bottom paint, add some more / fixing patches of missing barrier coating and paint, but as I said...I'd like to be in the water early. Maybe I should consider having it soda blasted, even if it is expensive. The one thing I always lack is time.

I would also like to fly the spinnaker for the first time. But first, my goal is to complete the re-power! I had hoped to take advantage of the good weather last weekend but I have to wait for room to be made on the hard - boats aren't putting put back in as quickly as I thought they would and I have to wait for room to have it pulled. I have tried to get everything ready and think that I have done all that I can to make this process go as quickly as possible. I've got my fingers crossed that this spring/summer is better than the past 2 (the only 2 that I have had the boat)!

I second the motion!!!

After 8 weeks of pneumonia right after moving my newly purchased boat to Boston two years ago and losing half the season last year to backstay replacement and my Mom's major surgery August 5th I certainly agree wholeheartedly. Nothing as tough as you have had to deal with, thankfully.

I wish I was close enough to help with the engine swap, but I wish you all the luck in the world with it.

Simple goals for a simple owner: Learn my boat, i.e. sail a lot (new owner of 1978 S2 7.3), demystify the electrical system and perform basic maintenance (including sewing some new sail bags and sail cover).

More complex goal: Figure out and fix the soft spot on the fore deck... core crush? or balsa rot? The profile of the soft area has a similarity to the mast cross section, so I'm hopeful that its impact damage, not rot. Will find out more this week.

Looking for more boat speed.

Completed my first goal today, hauling the boat out on theh trailer and scrubbing the bottom. This is the first time the boat has been out of the water in 3 years. (last year's goal was to design and build the trailer).

Second goal is on order: a new mylar genoa.

Third goal is to replace the radio antenna, fix the spar fly and replace the anchor light all at the top of the mast.
