Glue for bomar hatch gasket

I have an 83 hunter 34 where the gasket on the top half of a bomar hatch that has gotten torn. I'm wondering what sort of glue I should use to attach the gasket? This looks like a fairly simple job, is there anything else I should be aware of?

crazy glue or similar but get the slow acting. Just went thru that and that is what bomar said to use,.
