He had the purest clearest tenor voice I've ever heard. I have every album he ever made, converted all the vinyls to digital and put all of 'em in my itunes library. My favorite cuts are on my ipod and iphone. Actually met him once,...in the early 70s shortly before he chucked it all to go sailing. Thanks for posting his obit, Rick. A lot of us will be humming "To an isle in the water, surely I must go."
