I have just purchased a gennaker for my 23.5.I am considering mounting 2 swivel blocks to the padeyes aft, where the lifelines used to connect(have added sternrail seats so they are not used). Then adding P & S cam cleats with fairleads to the coamings. Has anyone had experience rigging a "gennaker" in this manner (or any other manner)? I tremble to think how much beer I could have bought with the money I spent on this sock & sail.

Gennaker Rigging

What you are considering doing is exactly what I did on my H-26. The only other thing you might think about is ratcheting blocks. They were recommended to me by my sailmaker, and they work well. In lighter winds I can control the sheet with one hand, and the ratchet block makes for easier and faster trimming. I used a Harken Hexaratchet 3", Shaefer's is called a DuraRatchet. The money will seem well-spent the first time you see how well you can move in light winds and more.
