In January I purchased a 1975 catalina and Have been working on it in the snow and rain of a Cleveland winter. TODAY I get her wet. We drop and rig her this morning, shake her out this afternood and then sail her the 35 mile to her new home port of Lorain on Saturday. This is not the typical forum posting. But since finding this site I read it every morning and talk to you folks more than some of my relatives. I am excited - just had to share!! The season begins Skip

Congrats

I can certainly understand how you feel since I also have been working on a '76 for most of the winter. It's a good feeling to know your boat will be ship-shape and ready for the summer season. My morning isn't complete unless I've read all the new postings here on my "home" page. Have a great sailing season!

Rock & Roll!

It's a nasty job but makes the sailing that much sweeter when you're done! Have fun!! LaDonna

I have about another 3 weeks to go.

Purchased a 82 C-22 in March. Needed some serious TLC. I will post photo's later... All of the new rigging came in last week and all of the paint came this week. New cushions will be finished tonight, and weather permitting, painting will begin this weekend. Can't wait for my turn to launch...Hope it was a good one.

It's a beautiful thing

Skip, We bought a 2001 C36 this year, and it was supposed to go in today. I showed up last Wednesday to drop off a few things... I was in the neighborhood... It took me 90 minutes to get in the hood but I was there.. The service manager said I was just in time... I asked for what... He said we're gonna splash today. I asked when and he said NOW! Good thing I had the digital camera.. I would have hated to miss it... Best of luck, Chris

Congrats!

You guys should move South. We've been sailing all winter. However, just because we get to use our boats all year long doesn't lessen the excitement of taking her out each time. I agree with the tread regarding the benefits of time away on the boat. The only thing is it is difficult to work on the boat when I could be sailing her. I need to spend a couple of weekends tied up to the dock and working rather than playing. Oh well, there is always next weekend. Have a great time.

Mine goes next week

Congrats, I just bought my C-36 in November. I worked hard over the winter and early spring doing the varnishing and other maintenance bits. They are launching it sometime next week and I will be doing a sea trial next Friday. The mast should be stepped this week and the new name put on. Got a bunch of little things to do this weekend (winches, zincs, waxing). Can't wait. Les Murray s/v Ceilidh 86 C-36 #560
