Centerboard

Chris - There are two issues that generally cause a board to stick in the up position - First, there may be growth well inside the centerboard well that has captured the board. Try to clean well into the slot with a long narrow tool like a paint stirrer. I wouldn't use a pressure washer because you might trap the crud further up in there. Second, sometimes the board absorbs some water and swells. If this is the problem the boat needs to be dried out out of the water. Justin - O'day Owners' Web

centerboard, reply

I am assuming that the lines which work the centerboard are intact. My widgeon has two lines coming through the centerboard trunk, one works the centerboard up and ties it in the stowed position and the other lowers and holds it down. It can be tough to move it when pulling on these lines, but it eventually moves.
