I believe the source of your leak is the seam between the sliding cabin top/hatch and the white plastic piece on which it slides. If you look at it carefully you will see that it is not an air/water tight seem. The water collects of the sliding hatch and exits on a notch on the port and starboard side of the cabin top. When there is a large volume of water, its backs up and passes through that seem between the hatch top and its slider. It's interesting you mentioned "the galley" side of your boat, since water runs to the starboard side first because of the weight of the motor and battery. You can probably devote the rest of your life attempting to make a better seal for this hatch. One thing I did was place a better (softer) material between the sliding hatch and its slider, it raised the sliding hatch and began geting scratched by the edge of the white stationery cabin hatch into which it slides. The smartist, and the easiest, fix is to just buy a companion way cover.Besides immediatly correcting the leak it will also protect the hatch boards, and sliding cover itself, from the incredibly damaging sun uv rays.Let us know how you make out.Bob Fliegel
