I am going to install a larger head sail (135-155)on my 1997 310. I use the boat on inland lakes and do some club racing. As anyone had any experience on installing genoa tracks or larger sails on this model?

Genoa Tracks

Waine, Funny you should ask. This topic was just covered in the Hunter sail net list. I added genoa tracks to the out side on the coaming between the life line stantions, opposite the windows, on my 29.5 which is almost identical to the 310. In addition I added a 165% jib sail. I have marks on the sail so that I can furl it to 150, or 110. These imporvements and the addition of a cunningham and ridgid vang has greatly improved the sailing of this boat. It is my oppinion that all the newer Hunters with the fractional B&R rig do not make the best use of the sail plan. The small jib that tracks inside and the large main are fighting each other. Because of the small track the gib can not be flattened completely and therefore the gib hooks on the bottom or foot. Check out any of the Hunter brochures. every picture shows the jb with a big hook like a J. The main and the jib can not be made parallel. All points of sail will be improved especially down wind.
