Has anyone installed a genoa track on an O'day 26? The factory installed track on the coaming is too far aft for our 140% genoa. Even when the lead is set all the way forward, the sail has too much twist. Many other production boats have the track along the toerail. We would not be able to do that because there is no access underneath to through bolt it. How far inboard or outboard do you recommend the track being? Should it angle slightly inboard as it goes forward? Thanks.

Raise the sail?

If your luff is short enough, you could use a bridle at the tack to raise the sail. Would have the same effect as moving the lead car forward. You could have the sail recut to fit the boat. The cost could be a lot less than new hardware.
