Need to replace the lines on my Cat 22's 150 genoa. Don't have the old one to compare. Any advice on the size and length would be appreciated. Thanks, Tom
Shameless plug warning: Our chandlery on this site has a running rigging specifier that calculates all that and provides prices for several grades of rope, all based on boat model. Splices, whipping, and shackles are available, too. See link below. Click the Spars and Rigging tab on the home page.
Put your genoa up while tied up in the slip, providing that there's not a heavy wind to fight. Measure from the clew, around the mast, and back to the cleats. Leave a little extra, and then double it. That is how much line you need. Catalina recommends using 3/8 inch, and New England Sta-set works fine.
