Does anyone have advice on a genoa (135 or 150) for a Venture 23? Since it is a cutter rig with two small jibs, will it work? Any clue to who builds any? What about the two fore stays? This is a new boat for me and I'm not very experienced with cutter rigs. Thanks for the help. Jeff

Genoa for Newport

I use a genoa on my Venture 23 Newport. I use it in place of the inner (aft) jib. It works well. I bought it used from Minnies Sails. The one I ue has a 20.75 Luff, 19.67 Leach and 12.67 Foot. I could not tell you whether it is a 135 or 150. I just found one that looked like it would fit. I had a little trouble positioning a fairlead. It needs to be roughly even with the back of the cabin just outside of the rail. You can find a position by holding the sheet while you sail. I have been unsuccessful at using the genoa plus the outer (forward) jib because you cannot see the outer jib. If you have anymore questions I may be able to help. Dan
