Genoa advice

When I bought my '79 Cat 22 last year, it came with two jibs. One of the jibs, the original, was unserviceable due to holes, etc. The other proved to be a 110% genoa. It has an internal (i.e. sewn into the sail) line that adjusts the tension along both the foot and leech of the sail. The line broke along the leech - it all came out the end. The sail still functions, though I suppose my ego is affected by the unsightly luffing that occurs along the leech of the sail. Any suggestions on how to restring the leech tension line? Local loft

Any Local Sail loft will be able to repair the leach line. You will get more speed and satisfaction by buying a new larger Genoa like a 135%.You should be able to get one new for under $1000.

leech line cord

West Marine sells leech line cord.... it's cheap. The nearest one to you is on Tustin Ave in Orange. Tape the line to a long rod, like a welding rod, and fish it through. Call a local sail loft for advice if you're not sure how to attach the fixed end. Elliot-Patteson in Newport Beach would probably advise yiu or make repair.
