We love ours as well. The sock makes it easy to set and, more importantly easy and safe to douse even in heavier air.

Buying a stock sized gennaker and sock from North Sails Direct. Good price and told it's the same material and construction as North custom. Made in Sri Lanka. The dimension are so close to the various custom quotes I got to make it a no-brainer.

I haven't flown ours yet (planning this spring), but IIRC it hanks to the forestay. I see others that dont have hanks, but aren't those spinakkers?

I am likely wrong here but to me, gennaker = cruising spinnaker. A light air sail that's hanked on is a drifter.

Anybody got approximate prices and any links to websites for these spinnaker/gennaker with socks?

Thanks,

Check Newjsi.com (Doyle Ploch Sailmakers). They make the OEM sails for Catalina in St. Petersburg, FL. I just ordered a Doyle APC asymmetric spinnaker with ATN sock, tacker, bag, tackline, etc. for about $2100 for my C309, which is very similar to your 310. Their sails are all made locally in their St. Pete loft.

We got ours from North Sails with bag and snuffer for about $1500.. That's for a fractional SanJuan 7.7 (about 26'), excellent quality..

I guess I have a drifter then. The (several times back) previous owners called it a genakker, but its hanked to the forestay as best I recall (ill have to dig it out to refresh my memory). I'm going to play with it a lot this spring though. Winds are generally very light here so it may possibly be the best overall headsail to fly.

Try the Sail Warehouse they sell asymmetric spinnakers kits that come complete with sock, tacker, halyard, sheets and blocks. First quality, I got on last summer.
