Generators for AC Unit

I am having a 12K BTU AC installed in my 77 Catalina. I need a min. of a 2K watt generator to run the unit when away from shore( a must for the wife). I have looked at a portable gen that gen 3600w and looks like I could make it fit in the transom area storage. Has anybody tried this, or is there a unit (gen) that you would recommend that would fit here or somewhere? Thanks!Ray

Check out Panda, at any marine supply house). they make a very small, low K unit that you can probably find room for down below.
