I want to purchase a 4KW Fisher Panda generator for my h376. Where do I put it? It is too tall for the aft locker. Has anyone else done this or do I need another boat?

Aft Lazarette

Don't know if the area I'm about to suggest was changed form the 376 to the 380; On the 380 the aft starboard lazarette is removeable from the boat making lowering of a generator a snap. It was designed to go there. The port side is molded along with the rest of the boat but the starboard side unscrews and lifts off making a large hole to work through. Good Luck Bob Knott H380

Boat Show

Talked to the Panda dealer at the last boat show and then made some measurements on my 376....and the 4 KW will fit in the starboard aft lazarette/cockpit locker. I'm not sure about the connections for cooling water, etc. or the noise level particularly in the aft cabin although the Panda with its enclosure is the quietest one I have seen.....also the most expensive genset which is why it is not a priority for me right now. I did check with a Hunter dealer who confirmed it was "doable" and was willing to work out the details of the installation for me. I have seen one 376 a couple years ago with a generator installed in the locker....it fit but was not a Panda and was not a good install (had a lot of problems)

honest, I don't work for Entec...

but we put thier EW-4200-D (4.2 kW) water cooled, insulated genset in the aft storage locker of our H410 and have been very happy with it. It uses the same Farymann diesel engine and has the same 50Dba noise level as the Fisher Panda. Price is about $8,000 installed (we had the dealer add it when we purchased the boat) Dimensions with the insulation enclosure are 16"wx23"lx20"h. May fit in your 376, good luck.
