I was wiped out by Hurricane Katrina while outside New Orleans and am now on the South Tx coast. Im thinking of buying a Hunter 37 Cutter around a 1977 to 1980 model.I am totally unfamiliar with cutters, and can someone tell me what to look for in buying this model?

Start with "Owner's Reviews" under "Boat Information". Then go to the Photo Forum and select H37C for a search. There you will see where we have spent our time on repairs and upgrades. Then read what Gene Greunder has to say(Related Link). You will want at least a late '79 or newer model to get the 30 hp Yanmar. My September 1979 has the 20hp. You will need an '82 or later to get the traveler out of the cockpit. Or you can move it yourself. Or maybe you will prefer it there as I do. Most importantly, pay for a survey!
