HI all, I have recently purchased a 1976 Oday 27. It has two Gemini compasses, one each on port and starboard side. Both bubbles are very cloudy, almost unreadable. From what I see the compass reading is still accurate, however I'm curious. 1) how do I clean those bubbles without full disassembly or would it be best to remove them and have them serviced, cleaning and/or replacing the bubble? 2) Will those compasses be ok during winter time when we haul the boat out soon and cover her up for the boring Great Lakes winters???? From what I read, ITT Rule Industries acquired Aqua Meter, however nothing on their site about these compasses. Any help is great! Mark 1976 oday 27 Green Bay, Wisconsin
