I bought my '97 36CC used, in 2004. It is now nearly 10 years old, and was just found to have profuse gellcoat blisters, small dime sized blisters evenly covering the bottom of the hull. Does anyone know of this being a chronic problem with this particular model year, hull? , and is anyone aware of Beneteau's response to such a problem nearly 10 years after commissioning? My understanding is that the US boats come with a 10 year hull warranty, whereas the French boats had a 3 year warranty. Is this correct? Also, any recommendations for fixing the problem? The yard servicing the boat recommends a bottom peel, but I'm thinking that with such small blisters this is overkill. My inclinations is to sand and fill as needed. However, I don't know what will become of the problem without a sure ($$$) fix. My second leaning is to have the bottom sandblasted then epoxied to provide a barrier coat. Any thoughts or experiences?
