On the cockpit floor, I have had some strictly cosmetic issues to deal with.
There were some spots, that looked to have been touched up when the boat was delivered to me about 3 years ago. Some of the spots turned grey/brown and were about the size of a dime.
Twice in the last to years working in summer temps about 75F, I have attempted to re-touch them up with a kit from Beneteau (paste and the hardner). When I followed the mixing directions and applied the mixture both times the product started out white after being applied with a q-tip and when I came back 2 days later, the spots got slightly bigger, they did not remain white and turned a grey color again. After the first experience, I figured I had oxidation occurring, and I used saranwrap to cover up the touched up area-result spot was still turning up grey.
It's as if someone had a coffee spot on the floor and I would like to get these spots white again, any suggestions or clues as to what might be happening, other than to say I should try it again with wax paper?
