I just ripped the wood floor in the head. I had to sand off all the glue that was used to keep it down, and now I have bare fiberglass. Do I need to finish this somehow before I stick on some grip tape, or am I going about this all wrong?

Non-Skid Paint

Ken, I'd probably use some non-skid deck paint instead of grip tape. Most all of the paint companies make one. If the areas not too big West Marine has it in 12 oz. spray cans. Ron 86 C30TRBS

Just Non-skid?

I don't need to prep it with gelcoat or finish or something? I just paint on the non-skid?

Refinish Head

I'd probably seal the sanded sole with an Epoxy Barrier Coat, then overcoat /w Non-Skid. This might be most important if you shower in the head, or otherwise get water in/on the floor pan. It's a small area, so you don't save much (time/money) by omitting the sealer. It's not critical tho', if the head is always dry - and if it is, please advise us all how you accomplish that :) - Whatever you do, surface PREPARATION will be the key - it must be CLEAN, prior to painting or coating. Regards, Gord
