I'm sure ths has been addressed else where - but our 1994 H-26 has a number of very thin cracks in the gel coat - primarily in the cockpit in corners. I don't think they are a structural problem - but I'd love to fix them. I also have a thin hairline crack in the gelcoat on the galley sink. Should I attempt a repair? Should this be left to professionals? Do I just live with them? One other topic - this weekend - have a scratch in the gel coat on my hull - unfortunate bump during a windy attempt to back into our slip. I'm thinking of a rubbing compound ... any thoughts? There are several websites that deal with gel coat repairs . You can get gel in a tube that is already mixed at west marine or you can get the two part that you mix. Basically you make the crack a little bigger with a dremel or church key , then fill in let dry and sand . This is just an over view so if your comfortable with the above your good to go . A woman whos name I not longer remember at the west wright potter site had a great gel coat repair site . I can try to find it if you cant find something . Probably the worst part of gel repair is getting the new to match the old color . with the two part type your mix some test batches until you get a close match and then procede with the repair . Let me know if you need me to try and find her site , Mike
