Gate Stanchions on "88 Hunter Legend 37.5

Hi all Hunter Owners, I replaced my lifelines with Dyneema and replaced all the stanchions on my Hunter only to find that the new stanchions didn't come with any ferrules. The friction of the line going tight and slack whenever we boarded (we are liveaboards) is causing the Dyneema to fray! I haven't found anything to work as ferrules so my next idea was to install gate stanchions. The 1988 Hunter Legend (37.5) doesn't come with gate stanchions so before I invest in them I was wondering if anyone has ever installed gate stanchions on their Hunter when there originally were none?

Congrats on installing dyneema life lines. The possibility of chafe is a real issue.
Can you modify the stanchions to be smooth where the life line runs? I have seen them ground and polished smooth. If not can you run a plastic insert through the stanchion to protect the dyneema. You can get plastic that fits over lines. I have some on my lifeline (wire) that protect the lifeline as it goes by the shroud. The plastic will eventually wear out. It is like a zinc, sacrificial.
