Any suggestions for a raw water pump gasket? I went to 2 auto parts stores and the best I could find was a 2' sheet of cork gasket material that was 3/32 thick. The original looked like a paper gasket. Seems like everything is now liquid like Permatex a silicone LocTite product.

Assumptions: M25 series engine, Oberdorfer pump. Between the faceplate and the pump when you've replaced an impeller.

Am I close?

Use a paper bag. That pump doesn't want or need a gasket other than the paper ones. I've been making my own for years.

Close, between the new pump and the engine block.

Bob, once again: What kind of pump? Sources are Depco or Torreson/Marine diesel direct.

Those gaskets are thicker than the one between the faceplate and the pump. They're just heavier paper.
