I was looking for an effective way to close up my boat since I will be traveling to known misquito territory. I found this double bulb seal on Ebay and it will fit inside the forward hatch and cover the bulge that is formed in the hull. I just put 8 feet of seal on my forward hatch and I see no light leaks. This would work well on the pop top as well. Expect to pay $1/foot. I will set mine more permanently with black RTV and seal the corners with it. Thanks John

I need to reseal my hatch and poptop. I like the redundancy of the double bulb.

source of weatherstrips

www.jcwhitney.com/ or the printed JC Whitney Co. catalog has a variety of rubber moldings and weather strips to choose from intended for cars and trucks and RVs, but suitable for boats also.

Gasket Material for Pop-Top and Hatch

One inch pipe foam insulation from the hardware store cut in half works great. This foam is closed cell so it will not transfer water. Use contact cement to glue into channels. We have done our Mac 25 Pop-top and forward hatch and it has worked just fine and the price is right.

pop top seals

The pop top seals were completely rotten on my 74 Venture 25 and I struggled with finding a replacement also...auto stores, West Marine, etc.....finally found exactly what I needed from Cabela's...Trim Molding and Hatch Seals...$32.99...item number ST-016311. I don't remember how many feet it is but was enough to do my poptop and more. Just go to their website at cabelas.com. It only comes in black and I wanted white. A good paint spray of white worked well. Let it thoughly dry if you do this before putting in on. No rivets are needed as it holds well.
